ancient china (han and tang dynasties) were actually more technologically advanced and economically prosperous than that of the roman empire. all outside the great wall were uncivilized barbarians.
UNCIVILIZED BARBARIANS? WTF MAN, WTF?! How is that so?
The Romans had access to goods from around the world, a mail system that was faster than anything before the 20th Century, very well maintained roads, unrivaled security, central heating, police and fire departments, large amounts of public entertainment, and more.
The Roman aqueduct, which stretched 100s and 100s of miles to bring water to there cities and some still to this day continue to bring water, and some still use them. They built the most advanced plumbing in history until the modern age. Roman aqueducts brought over 300 million gallons of water per day to the city of Rome, it also made farm land were it was not even possible! With the aqueduct the Romans did not have to build mayor critics by the water like the Chinese did! this over 300 million gallons of water per day to the city and there pluming could not be matched in till the modern day!
I believe the Romans had the first water filters in history, these water filters were for the aqueducts and perhaps some others things as well. I got this information from some books from the school library a wile back.
The Romans have also invented the fist mouthwash, that actually clean your teeth, and was not harmful to your body or your teeth
The Romans invented the hammer and the nail, which built structures faster and better. Actually their nails design back then was much better than modern nail design today. Their nails were square, and that could fit in the wood perfectly without cracking it, todays nails are around they crack the wood wan you nail it to the wood.
Roman medical science was very advance, they knew so many things are still being practiced today. Especially the trainers in sports (trainers are pretty much like medics).
The Romans had most medical tools that is same exact that medical tools a modern doctor will have. The only difference between the modern tools and the Roman tools is that, the Roman tools were made out of bronze also theirs are much more decorated, and modern tools are not decorated, and made of stainless steel I think. Other than that, if you lighten up the medical tools together, they will look exactly the same (beside the decoration of the Roman tools).
They even had historys first sanitized treatment. They say not one gladiator has died from the treatment of a Roman doctor. Gladiators will be badly wounded, or heart, the very next day or in 3 days or so (depending on the damage, of how long they will stay with the doctor) they will be good as new. In these recent discoveries of these tools and medical science of the Romans, they have discovered that the ancient Romans perform virtually modern-day surgeries! After the Roman Empire fell this modern-day surgeries a.k.a. Roman surgeries, and along with some of the medical science fell with it!.
The first Coliseum (The Roman Coliseum) and still today one of the biggest, as tall as 175 feet or so, it held as many as 75,000 spectators or maybe more, it had the first drinking water fountain, elevators maybe the first in history, had the first cover, called the Velarium and etc.
Roman architecture, heavily influenced in our culture today..
The Roman even had modern legal system like the trial for gory and act.
In small thing about Roman military.
The Romans had the most avenst armor and helmets in ancient time!
The Segmentata Armor was very flexible and gave good strong protection. The Segmentata wastes 17 to 20 lbs. It will provide protection against missiles, speeders, swords and etc. This armor was the strongest armor made at this time, they even had sudsy about this armor. The Romans had other armors as well
The Romans organized the first field medics in there army (this is the first time in history).
The Roman medic were white, had medical supplies, and had standard armor, and helmets. The Roman's medical officer was "medicus" and their equivalent of modern-day enlisted medic were called the "medicus ordinarius". The medicus ordinarious was drawn from the ranks of soldiers, and trained by the Roman army. Our own armed forces traditionally train and employ technicians to care for troops in the field just as the early Romans did. (U.S.A. armed forces) Yes everyone did have some form of medics, but the Romans, took it up in another level. Having the first organized field medics
Roman helmets uniquely designed. This helmet stretches down to the neck providing protection to the neck, also two pieces that protected cheeks, and also the top of the helmet (cannot really described it, just look at the picture) is like something like a cap. Well anyways that part of the helmet I was talking about protects you from heavy weapons, and also from weapons going across your face (at least downward).
As you can see these helmets were very advance.

The Romans chose the Gladius (The Roman sword) is because they can fight in closer formations. They also can maneuver faster in there formations, they also have no problem fighting in a tighter or closer terrain, and with shorter swords they could also have a bigger shield, and could make better formations.
There is also more reasons they chose the Gladius, it can be wheeled faster than a bigger swords, and its more maneuverable its lighter than any sword at that time (to my knowledge) and it is good for piercing through armor, at least through light or medium armor.
The Roman infantry sword that I mention, it is 22 In. or 24 In. long, the Roman cavalry sword looks exactly the same as a Roman infantry sword but much longer its called the Sparta. Lots of historians say the Roman sword was the best sword ever made. or The best hand weapon until the gunpowder age.
The Romans had the greatest machinery at its time, they invented the Catapult, Onager, ball bearings, improve the Ballista, and more (invented or improve).
And almost forgot to mention one more thing. The Romans invented the worlds first chain gun. it was a Ballista that can shoot multiple projectiles, and the funny thing is the way they reload it is a lot like the American Civil War Gatling gun but with bigger projectiles.
Greek or Roman Ballista unlike a giant crossbow, Ballistas can shoot rocks, medal balls, javelins, and arrows.
The Romans also had histories first Death rays!!
The Roman shields
These Roman shields have been described to me as Tower shields because of the size. Dont be fold that the shield is heavy, just because its size. Roman Shield had reinforced leather padding or armor in the front and in the back to make this shield stronger
It took us 1800 years to rediscover or remake most what the West or world has lost.
Some thinks like medical sciences, tools, most architecture, Coliseum, SELF OPENING DOORS, some machinery and act took 2000 years to rediscover or remake.
Rome was the longest Empire on human History. Like they say The Roman Empire was a virtue of modern civilization.
Ok believe me I can keep going on just with the Romans, if I do then it will be a book not a post. So I will move on with other uncivilized barbarians.
Very Brief now got to go!
Greece
The Greeks had knowledge to gather electricity from lighting and had some form of magnets technology.. They even had historys frist canon witch was a steam canon or steam Gun!
The Greeks had the worlds most brilliant minds, they had greatest philosophers! They invented the Republic, Democracy, check & balance, algebra, they even invented the first-steam engine in history, also invented the first Spencer machine, they also have invented the first automatic doors. and more!
Incas
Correct me if Im wrong, but I think it was the Incas invent the zero! They were perhaps the most advanced with MATH!! They had good architecture as well. The Incas were also one of the Greatest empires in the Americas!
Spine and others Europeans
The Europeans had the most advanced Ships after the 15th century! The Spanish were the first in history to circle the world! They were the first to Conquer Americas! And if not the Vikings the Spanish were the first outsider people to step foot on Americas! The Europeans were mad advancements in anatomy (Da Vinci), astronomy (Galileo) music (Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus, etc) The Europeans had the most avenst armors, weapons, ships, industry, science, and more!
Egypt built the biggest stretcher in ancient times aka the Egypt primaries, first righting system in history, and more!
Others
The Baghdad battery (3000 BC I think) witch is the first battery in history! ..
some of chinese ancient inventions (gun powder (invented during the han dynasty), compass (invented during the bc time), paper (also invented in bc), copy techniques (also invented bc)
the chinese song dynasty was also the first country in the world equipped with gun powder weapons such as hand held gernade, cannons, and an early version of guns.
Europe, the middle east, and central asia were all either the dark age, uncivilized, or barbaric while china outpaced the world in the arts and sciences.
Dude, over all China at that time (like in 1000-1300s) was the most advance, but Europe had the most advance armors, castles, and some other things here and there, the middle east were advanced in other things as well.
