Only pig, no steak!
You will get eternal life though - feasting every night, eating the same pig over and over again - and fighting every day without the possiblity of getting killed..... |
So do they throw battle axes into each others backs as a joke in there?

Shariah is law Northman. I'm not sure our legislation counts in the afterlife, otherwise I'm going to have a lot of problems with speeding fines

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Like I said never heard of any of this until I tuned on a news channel.
as far as Jihad, or any struggle there is a good qoute from the Prophet
"the ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr".

Valhalla is my type of place
(Valhalla can't come up with 72 virgins) a wee bit like Scotland then
( Once upon a time can't see nought relating to me taking your head)
Where did I get a war axe from? when I started off I had a great big bastard sword strapped to my back. Maybe the war axe was strapped to my third leg (like one of them piercings objects) and for a while I forgot it was there.
Don't worry about losing your head cause someone will probably resurrect you before too long by editing their post and seeing as the beer(or more likely mead) in Valhalla is free we can have us a great party with them Valkyrie lasses.
Do you reckon we can coax Queen Valkyrie Dawn for a rendition of Wagner's 'Flight of the Valkyrie'.
as in this version
p.s. there are loads of interesting materials to read on that sacred texts site and maybe worth adding to favourites for future use.

I heard of the 72 virgins even from some of my religious teachers, i must admit. I surely refuse to belive it.
I made research and couldnt find any prove in the skripts of the islamic teaching.
I guess its an roumor witch is webt in the islamic history out of dark ages.
(the same ages when christian said the world is a plate)...
its interresting how its pushed now in the view of westerner about the islam.

So are the 80072 personal attendants mentioned in Islamic scripture as a guarantee for successful jihad?

Living through eternity with a bunch of grizzled, bearded men, cutting each other to pieces on a daily basis and eating pork for dinner every day, and when Ragnarok comes we will have to fight a bunch of giants, serpents and wolves knowing full well we are destined to lose. Yeah, that sounds like Heaven alright.
I think I will stick with the slaves and virgins. I wonder though if the virgin hymens regenerate every day as they would in Valhalla.

Only in groundhog day Valhalla would hymens regenerate akin to everything else.
The heaven you elect to go to has a look but do not touch the virgins policy and probably has keep off the Elysian fields grass signs everywhere too
nope! I'm sticking with Groundhog day Valhalla
anyways where else would you see Dawn the Valkyrie Queen doing a rendition of Wagner's Flight of the Valkyrie

Just a good religious lie for young male who doesn't know better. Like selling land in heaven, didn't the latin church do that? |
What have you been smoking Leonidas?......that being said, for a fee I'll let you rent out some of my 700 acres.......
You will get eternal life though - feasting every night, eating the

And by killed you mean eternally killed, since IIRC you still die in Valhalla it's just at the end of the day you're returned to life so you can feast.
I wonder though if the virgin hymens regenerate every day as they would in Valhalla. |
Well i did hear they were "ever-renewing" virgins so certain acts might be difficult/painful. However i would guess you can still do certain acts that I don't think are Islam-approved.....

We all spend a day thinking we're in heaven and then the Buddha comes down and goes "Sike!" and then reincarnates us.... And I wanted to keep those virgins too.

I wonder how much virgins allah's got up there, if he can dish out 72 for everyone that gets up there with him..?
Do the women get 72 spotty randy teenage boys? Its funny how a female virgin is the definition of purity, and a male virgin is just a loser.

http://theuglytruth.wordpress.com/2007/03/04/debunking-the-suicide-for-72-virgins-myth/
Above there are two articles talk about this particular issue, and the issue of suicide-bombers alongside it.
As I have mentioned before no such a promise is not part of Islam, or Islamic doctorine. It stands upon some weak hadith, that is not considered legitimate by Islamic scholars.
The Quran, the ultimate source of Islam does not mention such a thing.

Paul, to tell you the truth, I have never been raised or taught by this information. Niether in the family, nor in the school and in my environment.

That must be a real dissapointment for these suicide bombers... Get yourself all worked up for the 72 virgins promised by your radical 'leaders', and then you blow up and find yourself in hell instead... Bugger!

Personal belief that a love based relationship is between one man and one woman.
Theologically speaking the four wives in the first place is something that was implemented as a deterrent for having children born out of wed-lock who had no rights to property in pre-Modern times, alongside the fact that warfare brought about a shortage in men in that time. The Prophet AFAIK advised monogamy as well.
It boils down to personal beliefs to which there is no theology.

It's difficult to think of any really theological reason in any religion I know of - though primarily it has to be Christianity that advocates it. The words of the Christian marriage service, generally, stipulate 'forsaking all others' and 'until death do us part' but I'm not aware of any injunction actually requiring that. (The second is nowadays anyway routinely ignored by most Christians.)
The ten commandments forbid adultery, but that never precluded having several wives (or husbands).
The key figure is of course St Paul. Not because he went on about it being better to marry than burn (which doesn't itself imply monogamy) but because of his saying 'Let every man have his own wife.' But even that seems to be, the way he argues it, a practical recommendation rather than a theological injunction.
His theologically preferred position was celibacy, not monogamy.
(For a little light relief if your blood pressure can stand it, check out
Samples:
"God used the Supreme Court to subvert the will of the heathens and ensure that George W. Bush became President to signal the imminent second arrival of His son."
"While those most worthy of God are, of course, men, they are the men who never contaminated themselves by touching woman."

It also a kind of contradiction in the heart of Christianity. For a whole religion to which based upon this life merely being a pre-lude to the afterlife to ackknowledge death as the end of something.
