Red, it is about the relation about Greek and Gilaki languages, I have talked about this thing in another Persian topic and there is a similar English topic:
Greek presence in Iran since 2nd millenium B.CThe title of this topic is "etymology", the Gilaki word for barberry is "miyalesk" and there is another similar word for hawthorn in Gilaki which is "
miyarex", it is believed these two have the same origin and according to my theory, it could be Greek.
In my Persian topic, I said the meaning of the words could be changed through the history, for example I said the Gilaki word for medlar is "konos", but the same word in Greek means pine cone. For the same reason I think the Greek origin word Myrica (mɪ'raɪkə) relates to those two Gilaki words, of course I know they are different, like Barberry and Bayberry.
