synyonyms or analogies/namesakes/mirror-sites (and sources) :

Please note we are not saying these are all the same sites. Some are same name and same site, some are same name and different sites (ie analogy/reminiscent-namesake/mirror-site), some are different name and same site. Surely people can see that it makes sense that the Welsh/etc would have had later namesakes of the original south-east sites, and different names for same sites in different sources, just like is known with other peoples/sources in history.
Also please note that some are only/just possible candidates/matches &/or that there may be some mistakes / wrong ones, esp the question marked ones.
And please take note that some are not orthodox "linguistically correct" cognates (eg "Windsor") but like confoundings/puns that ancients/medievals are known to have done sometimes. And note that all names here are from Arthurian tradition/literature/scholarship (and we have tried to show this esp for more common ones like "Windsor" (castle/Yseut/RT) by having them in quote marks/speech marks).
The main, most important/famous one/s to note here is the Guinnion/Dover one/s.
There is no easy way to show the multiple interconnections between the many places and sources, but see also chapter 13. Please also see our table/s showing the definite &/or seeming correspondences between the sites of the main/major sources (9 actual sites, 9 HB sites, 9 ND/SS sites, 9 PG sites, 12 Monasteries, 11 Consuls, 12/15 children of Brychan, [12?] battle sites of Taliesin, 10 children of Glywys?, ASC 571 entry?, 7 servants/men of the Porter, 3 solemnities of Padarn, 3 churches of Padarn, and the Wonders).
See our 3 papers on the 12 battle sites of HB, the 9 Pa Gur battle sites, and the Wonders of Britain for more info about those 3 sites/lists/sources matches.
