On a point of detail, 'England' there should be 'Britain' and 'Holland' should be 'the Netherlands' or perhaps, given the period, 'the United Provinces'.

Yes, I do agree with you here. Of course England and Holland are the incorrect, not simplified, names for those powers. Calling the United Kingdom "England" is ignoring the large Scottish influence on the Empire which cannot be underestimated. Same goes with "Holland" and the rest of the provinces. I think this is the first and easiest thing to be corrected.
