Do you call that music? It's not that strange to me, we do fire guns at weddings only. I did this year on my nephews wedding

Also in the Greek country (not in the cities) they shoot in the air during the weddings the only thing is changing is the gun .In Crete are using kalasnikof in the other areas just simple shotguns.

Now that's fun, there's nothing like a good air shooting but only for people who know how to use one. I'm tired of the critics, they watn to stop everything
This Garadenizli I know told me that he and his uncles sometimes go to the highest moutain top and shoot their guns into the air just to hear the echo from the next mountains. Is there such a tradition?

Yes they have their own cretan dialect, which preserves more archaic characteristics.
Cretans consider the guns a must, even the minister of Public Order, who is from Crete, has three guns in his home and not simple guns...

Rempetika.
I guess it can be included here because it was originally performed by Greeks from Smyrna (Izmir) in the 1920's.
The music is about the misfortunes they endured & many of the songs (incliding the 1 below) are about drugs.
