LIVNO bosnia and herzegovina

Livno is, in every sense of the word, a border town.

Today is it on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

Yesterday it was on the border of the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the border between Islam and Christianity.

The day before - it's founding date, September 28, 892 - it was on the border where Bosnia met Herzegovina, and where both met Dalmatia.

Even in a country famous for seducing ever major Empire in this part of the world, Livno stands out.

The city has a population of 35,877 - of which 81 per cent are Bosnian Croats, 13 per cent are Bosniaks, and 2 per cent are Bosnian Serbs.
