SYMBOLS of an ERA

Okay - this will be a lot of fun if everyone participates and I'd really, really love to see what you have to share. Pick a city, any city, and choose your favorite landmark from each area the city experienced.

For example, for Istanbul you might pick the Hagia Sofija to represent the Byzantine era, the Blue Mosque to represent the Ottoman era, and the Radisson Hotel to represent the Modern era. Try to focus on something specific - a building, a park, a ruin, something.

Okay, mine...

Sarajevo - of course.

1. Roman era - the Rimski Most, or Roman Bridge.

2. Ottoman era - The old homes.

3. Austro-Hungarian era - the Gradska Trznica, or City Cheese Market.

4. Yugoslav era - the UNITIC towers, Momo and Uzier.

5. Modern era - Bosnjacki Institut, Bosniak Institute
