John Jakes'Kent Family legend had a negative image on US .The cost of American revolution was great even Philip thePatriot would regret,The west was not the land of hope but the land of disappointment ,violence,full of different types of danger.Franklin liked to cheat other people in order to get the seat he wanted.Jefferson asked other people to go west but himself knew nothing of this area.Washington could not change the customs of US,people still use illegal punishment to deal with those people who broke the law.And the gap between poor and rich was great.This is my feeling .May be wrong.What is your views
