Damavand mount, Damavand town, Tehran, Iran

with a high point of 5610.27 meters, Damavand is the highest mountain peak in Iran located almost in the center of Alborz mountain range. Neither the Jafari transenna not its simple reliquary can be considered historic monuments or artifacts. Sixty-six km to the east of Tehran, to the right of Tehran-Firouz Kuh road, Damavand is a small town set in a closed-off and well-watered valley below the foothills of Mount Damavand whose cone is not visible from this place. During the summer months, its population is swollen by an influx of holiday makers.
Archaeological excavations carried out in the site of the modern town of Damavand have shown its occupation since the Neolithic times (5th millennium BC). The origins of the town go back to the Sassanian period. In the historical districts of the town as well as in its neighboring villages, there remain some relics belonging to the beginning of the Islamic period, the 11 century AD, and the Seljuk period.
The most important amongst these is are the Jom-eh Mosque and its minaret, of the same period, however restored in later periods (particularly during the Safavid rule) and thus turned into a new building void of any historical significance.
The mosque’s circular and simple brick minaret, which rests upon a rectangular brick base, is the only remaining relic of the structure. Traces of a Kuffic inscription and of other decorations, in the 11th-century style, remain to this day upon the minaret.
At Damavand there are also two funerary towers of the kind found so abundantly in the Caspian region. The Imamzadeh Shams od-Din, to the south-east of the mosque, is thought to date from the Seljuk period The Imamzadeh Abdollah, near the north-eastern edge of the town, must date from the beginning of the 14th century, although the carved wooden doors are of a later date than the recently were added on the south.

From top of it!!!

The city is Tehran, located on ~west of it

Sabalan mount, Ardabil, Iran

Nature in Ardebil

One of the most interesting mountains of Iran, with an altitude of about 4,800 m., is Sabalan which is originally a volcanic mountain. The summit is located 41 km. from Ardebil and can be easily observed while traveling on the road to Sar Ein and Ardebil. There is a lake on top of the Sabalan Mountain, which is a major attraction for professional hikers.

Pico de Orizaba ( Citlaltépetl )
5,636 metres (18,490 ft)
Popocatepetl 5,426 metres (17,802 feet)
Itztacihuatl 5,286 metres (17,342 feet)
Nevado de Toluca ( Xinantécatl )4577 meters

The Legend of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl
In Aztec mythology, Popocatépetl was a warrior who loved Iztaccíhuatl.

Iztaccíhuatl's father sent him to war in Oaxaca, promising him his daughter as his wife if he returned (which Iztaccíhuatl's father presumed he would not). Iztaccíhuatl was told her lover was dead and she died of grief. When he returned, he in turn died of grief over losing her. The gods covered them with snow and changed them into mountains. Iztaccíhuatl's mountain was called "Sleeping Woman" because it bears a resemblance to a woman lying on her back. He became the volcano Popocatépetl, raining fire on Earth in blind rage at the loss of his beloved.
