I have two great books showing ottoman peoples.  There are hundreds of engravings in these books.  It is a really different world, it is like a dream. I think that, our ancestors had better clothes than which we have now...

I would like to share some of the engravings with you. It has been really hard to choose engravings for me from hundreds of them.

Baltacı-Halberdier

Official who summoned persons wanted by the Head Vizier at the central offices of the Imperial Government and who was authorized to arrest the guilty and to condemn cultrits to be put into stocks.

Başçavuş, Sergeant-Major

Commander of the fifth squadron of the Agha squadrons of the Janissary Corps and Sergeant-Major of the whole Corps.
