I was wondering if anyone had information on the Cossack rebellion lead by Nalewajko and Laboda... I just took a sudden interest in this when i discovered my great grandpa's last name was Nalewajko form my mother's side. Anyone got any info?

Thanks TJK I dont know why i didnt chekc the site for the inof Now I wann ask you, in your opinion, was Nalewajko's actions justified? I can kind of understand why he set up such a rebellion. Him and his cossacks serving Rzeczpospolita by protecting its southern borders were still not getting the treatment they thought they deserved, still Polish Nobles had "Zlota Wolnosc" and were not equal to them. So tell me what you think of this.

I don't think we can say this early Cossack's rebellion were justified.. contrary to the popular belief Zaphorozian Cossacks on the turn of XVI/XVII century have rather rare fight with Tatars incurson on Ukraine ( the most examples of polish/cossack copperation in fight with  Tatars expediton regards period 1621-1630). I reccommend you to read the article of Ukrainian scholar Wiktor Brechunenko " Cossacks against the Tatar's expeditons in the first half of XVII century" published in "Mówia Wieki"  (6/1997)
