Linguistic evidence indicates theorigin of Balochi to be in the pre-Christian Medean or Parthian civilizations.

According to Mr Jerry Wood-Anderson who has travelled widely in 'Baloch' territory and who has studied the weavings of these people, the rug weaving 'Baloch' originated amongst the Scythians of Central Asia and came into Sistan thousands of years ago.
