Moscow Kremlin 1700 – graphic reconstruction of the Moscow fortress at the beginning of the 18th century. Engravings and plans made by skilled craftsmen of the bygone era, as well as more recent and modern drawings, were used for the creation. By the 18th century, the architectural ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin was completed. The fortress wore a recognizable modern look. In the work presented, separate fragments of structures that had already dilapidated are depicted still intact.

Moscow Kremlin 1800 – graphic reconstruction project for the structures of the Moscow fortress of the early 19th century. Images of artists depicting the Kremlin architecture of the time were used in the work. By early 19th century, the Kremlin – alive and ever-changing – loses a lot of buildings of the previous era. The project does not include dilapidated structures and those that were dismantled at that time. Historically, the established Kremlin image is closest to that of 1805.

Nice pics.  Can you enlighten us on the normal slums and market regions exterior to the walls..that were a norm from the med period to the early 20th ce. in most 'modern' Europe cities.

What became of them?

An elaborately designed historic town clock sits on the huge Spasskaya Tower. The sound of the bells could be heard over ten miles away. Studded with shining stars, the blue dial constantly revolved, while the hour-hand, made in the form of an elongated beam of sunlight, was attached to the wall.

The Spasskaya Tower stands magnificently behind the walls, taller than a set of pointed towers. Spasskaya is crowned with an elegant top and decorated with beautiful white stone lace.
