I'm in the process of writing a novel about Vikings in Ireland using the setting of the area around Cork in the years following the Battle of Clontarf. I'm having some trouble finding good sources for information and was wondering if anyone here had the answer I'm looking for.

I'm planning to use "Normanni" when the Irish reference the Vikings, but I'm having a tough time finding what the Vikings called the Irish around this time. Any ideas on how they would have referred to them? It wouldn't be proper to say, "the Irishmen attacked at dawn" when writing a scene from a Viking's point of view, right?

While I am writing fiction, I'd like it to be as close to accurate as it can be, so I'd welcome any good sources of information that may help with the massive amount of research I'm doing on the daily life and political upheaval around the year 1024. Thanks!
