Such dolls are usually found in Upper Egypt and Nubia. When complete they have faces and hair of clay. Hair may also be of faience beads. This one is missing its hair. A number have been found dating to the second half of the 11th Dynasty from tombs in the neighbourhood of Deir el Bahri and are common at Thebes. However, at least two have been found in earlier tombs at Beni Hasan and one at Rifeh. Another was found beneath the Ramesseum at Thebes dating to the 13th Dynasty (Bourriau 1988, 126-127). Most are of 11th Dynasty to Middle Kingdom.  

The marks on the body are thought to be tattoos or scarification and the end of the paddle, it has been suggested is an exaggerated pubic area.   Akanfo (ah-kahn'-foh) in the Twi language of the Akan means Akan people.   Akanfo originated in ancient Khanit, also called Keneset (Ancient Nubia), at the beginning of human existence upon Asaase (Earth). This is the region of contemporary Sudan and South Sudan in the Eastern region of Afuraka/Afuraitkait (Africa). We eventually migrated around the world. Some Akanfo migrated north of Khanit and settled ancient Kamit (ancient Egypt), while others remained in Khanit. Over the millennia, Akanfo migrated to West Afuraka/Afuraitkait (West Africa) establishing the ancient civilization of Akana (Khanat - Ghana). Some Akanfo were also a component of the Kanem empire (pre-Bornu), the original/authentic Black Berber empire (Abibiri-fo) and the Kong empire (Kan) before ultimately migrating to and settling in the areas of contemporary Ghana (Akana) and Ivory Coast. Akanfo presently comprise approximately 45.3 percent of the population of Ghana (11,000,000) and approximately 42.1 percent of the population of Ivory Coast  (9,000,000). Collectively, there are over 20,000,000 Akanfo in West Afuraka/Afuraitkait, including smaller populations in Togo, Burkina Faso and other areas.

More on the Serer of Senegal

Serer is the name of the second largest ethnic group located in Senegal and the Gambia in West Africa. The word Serer, in ancient Egyptian, means "he who traces the temples." Thus, although Serer are mainly found today in Senegal, they have a long history across Africa. Some Serer people are also found in the country of Mauretania. They are an ancient people whose history reaches deep into the past during various migrations from the North and East to their present home in West Africa. In fact, the Serer have several distinct languages, although they are viewed as one ethnic group. For example, the largest language among the Serer is called Serer-Sine, but there is also Serer-Noon, Serer – Ndut, Serer-Palor, Serer-Safen, and Serer-Lehar. These distinct languages are spoken in different parts of the countries of Senegal, Gambia, and Mauretania, and they represent the remnants of powerful ancient kingdoms, specifically the Kingdom of Sine and the Kingdom of Saloum. The latter kingdom counts more than 100 kings in its lineage, from the 11th century to the 21st century.

Religiously, the Serer follow the pattern of many West African people: They have a belief in one Supreme Deity, Roog. In their view, Roog created Everything in the universe, but all of the ordinary things that have to do with daily life, relationships, land disputes, war, and death are left to the ancestors. Among the Serer, there are elaborate ceremonies surrounding their relationship with their clan and totemic ancestors. Names such as Faye, Sar, Fall, Diagne, and Diouf are considered totemic for the Serer.

Linked to the religious beliefs of the Serer is the fact that their ancestors came through the Sudanese village of Tundi-Daro and erected upright stones in the shape of a phallus and a female organ. It is believed that this was an agrarian practice that symbolized the ritual union of the sky and Earth as a way to give birth to vegetation, their daughter. The vegetation from this divine union was a cosmic trinity that harks back to the African trinity of Ausar-Auset-Heru. Thus, the ancestors to the Serer carved stones of two sexual organs to invite the divinities to couple and give them good harvests. It was the desire to ensure material existence that drove humans to this process of ritualizing the divine union.

The Serer people still retain the deity service to the upright stones. At one time during the 14th century, they planted pestles that were used as altars for libations, called dek-kur, by the Wolof who have mixed with many of the Serer. Indeed, the idea of dek-kur means anvil or receptacle. The ancient town of Tundi-Daro means, in Wolof, the hill of sexual union in a ritual sense, affirming much of the Serer oral tradition.

What is more interesting in terms of the religion of the Serer is that their burial rites were the same as those of the ancient kings of Ghana and Egypt. The deceased, after an elaborate ceremony, was buried in luxury depending on what was available, laid on a bed, and around him were placed all the usual domestic and ordinary materials, tools, and objects with which he was familiar during life and maybe a rooster to awaken him. He may have been mummified in the manner of Sunni Ali Ber, the great king of Songhai, because mummification seems to have remained only in the Angola region.

  Igbos of Nigeria and Ancient Kemitians of Kemet (Egypt)

The Eri creation myths of the Igbos holds that Chukwu-Okike sent down Eri and his wife Nnamaku down a ladder from the sky. He landed near the current town of Agulu Eri. From them came the sacred ancestors who founded the Igbos, Edos, Igalas, Yorubas, Junkuns, Hausas, and the rest of humanity.

According to other schools of thought, the origin of the Igbo begins with the story of the eponymous ancestor, Eri. By archeological account, in around 2345 BC in Ancient Egypt, a certain “M-Eru-ka (or Eru/Eri)” became a high priest to Pharaoh Teti.

Subsequently, as a result of dynastic tensions, M-Eru-ka let Kemit with many of his family and followers and set forth towards the south-west, where the great sea of southern Ethiopia washed the shores of Palm-tree lined beaches.

Eri as he was later called entered into the territory that was to become later day modern Nigeria. He set up many lodges across the land, wherein Kemitian Muur Sciences were studied and practised. Some elements of those sciences and wisdom still survive in mutilated forms in Nigeria of today.

In a similar vein, it has been pointed out that during the Exodus, which marked the beginning of the mass movement of the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Eri was amongst the tribe that left Egypt following the injunction from Jehova to his devotees, the Israelites (see Deuteronomy chapter 28 verses 58 – 68).

It has also been argued that some of these ancient Kemitian tribes founded settlements in the southern part of Sudan, where they established the “Nok” culture, which is similar to that of other (sun Cult) culture, like Nri, the Jukuns, and the Onaja Oboli dynasty of the Igalas, in the Northern part of Nigeria.

The main Eri group continued until the confluence of Rivers Niger and Anambara known as “Ezu-na-Omambala” and where it settled and founded the Agulu-Eri community.

Indeed, due to the calibre of its earliest founders and the sciences they set up, the network of nationalities that make up the country Nigeria, is a veritable invisible Muurish Empire about to manifest on the face of the earth.

Due to the influence of Eri and his civilization, many distinct aspects of Kemitian culture and science are found among the Igbos of Nigeria. For example, the Igbos were famous giant mound builders, constructing many structures similar to the Kemitian and Kushitic pyramides, like those that used to be at Nsude.

The religious pantheon of the Igbos and the ancient Kemitians share many similar ancestors and ancestresses many of them bearing identical names.

They shared the sun-god worship of Ra, Chukwu Ra; Kemitians were similarly fetishitic about circumcision, and menstrual periods like the Igbos. Similar hair styles, similar martial arts and self defense schools, similar social structures.

But for now, we will focus on some observed ligusitic similarities that exist between ancient Kemtian language and present day Igbo language, for many Kemitic Egyptian words yet survive in the Igbo language today. This is a current topical area of research in linguistics and history.

I think that you completely misunderstood the purpose of this thread (though it was explained in my opening paragraphs). Your asking for "recognized academic proof" is nothing more than code language for a "Western approved" version of history. In short we all know that Western history is a farce... and the credibility of Western scholars in relationship particularly with black Africans is nonexistent. I have been aware of Nana Banchie Darkwa's book "The Africans who wrote the Bible", as well as other books connecting Akan people not only to the Ancient Kingdoms of Ghana, Mali and Songhai but also going as far back as Ancient Egypt. Now I have recently come across a youtube video that asserts that Ewe people migrated not only from the Ancient middle East but even further afield, from Asia! (check out --     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUDrLCB0wQk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUDrLCB0wQk ).     I found this to be quite interesting, especially because it was told by an African rather than not. It is not the first time I am hearing about Ewe people being linked with the Middle East (what I knew of before was a link with the Semitic peoples of the Middle East such as the 'Israelites').

Migration stories and their details are not only limited to the Akan and the Ewe but also with other groups in Ghana such as the Ga and others. Africans such as Cheik Anta Diop and Theophile Obenga have previously written about ancient connections between pre-dynastic Egypt and current African cultures.

In New York City (and elsewhere in the world), the Ausar Auset society is an esoteric group that practises a mixture of ancient (pre-dynastic) Egyptian religion as well as native African traditional practises. Their leader, Ra Un Nefer Amen (born Rogelio Alcides Straughn) appears to be very interested in forming links between Ausar Auset and West African cultures like the Akan and the Yoruba. He is apparently intimately connected with (Asante-Akyem) Agogo.

In the modern world we live in where information is in abundance, it seems to be more and more the case that "there are no more secrets". Although there is so much information available now, that which was previously only accessible to a few is now potentially accessible to anyone interested. The Internet has revolutionized information exchange, yet in spite of this it is easy to get overwhelmed with an unwanted barrage of advertisements and sometimes worse. Yet every so often, one comes across interesting bits of information, which is how I classify the above youtube video.
