look at the US in relation to the rest of the world...we're big time spenders

South Korea spending more on military than North Korea? That cannot be true.
I guess they don't have figures for North Korea.

North Korean military is one of the most overrated ones.. South Korean militatary is one of the most underrated ones..
this is what CIA factbook says.. we got some different countries and $ figures.. still no info on Russia

Where does Japan spend so much money on military.?I am not sure but Japans production on War industry such as planes warships etc was prohibited after WW2 .

They have a military industry. It's one reason of their budget spending.
For example I've read somewhere that the F-2 Mitsubishi is a sort of
F-16, that it's very expensive but it isn't comparable to many modern
fighters and that it is maintained to keep employment up.

Leaky subs
France spends more than the UK, so the first map has to be wrong.
Japan spends 1% of its GDP on the military, thats 1% of the world's second largest economy, not exactly lose change.
