A great 'real' story. Brought to mind because somebody finally decided to do a movie...tho that may have been done ......don't remember.

yes...pshaw...tsk tsk... I know it's old news.....but the trailer for the new movie brought it to mind.
They will, as usual, probably f**k  it all up in their keeping with the non historical approach.

So for those who don't know it........

This book presents an alternative theory as to why the boat was lost:  Boat comandeered by Communist hardliners who initiate a missile attack.  Then a fail safe mechanism designed to prevent rogue launches interacts with the volatile fuel of Soviet missiles and a devastating explosion follows.

I cant say that I buy the theory, but the book is a very good read.
