Narin Castle in Meybod, 1st millennium BC This is a six storey castle (There are three underground floors in the castle, while its remaining three floors are above the ground level) which has been built by Urartian king Sardur II (760-730 BC), it has an area of 350,000 square meters (500x700 meters) and is 16m high.

Noshijan castle in Nahavand, 1st millennium BC Noshijan is the most important Median site in Iran which has been probably built by Cyaxares (625-585 BC) in the south of the Median capital Ecbatana (Hamedan), it has been constructed in three stories and is 27 meters high, inside the castle there are two fire temples, a large pillared palace (known as Apadana), some storerooms and houses for storing food and provisions, and a central parlor.

Portara - Island of Naxos - This is the "entrance" to the island of Naxos and the town. It is also the symbol (trademark) of the island and about all that is left or rather built as an entrance to a palace to Apollon that was never finished. It is called the Portara entrance and was built in 522 BC. It is all of marble and situated on a small islet just at the side of the harbour in Naxos town.
Here the Portara is seen from the direction of the town. Another name of it is Palatia, which means Palace. According to mythology, Theseus abandoned Ariadni to the isle, after slaying the minotaur and she built in the same place her palace to stay where later it was built the Apollon temple.

I work in the building where they created and planned the Gemini space program in Virginia back in the 60s. OK so it doesn't have the OOMF the ones above do, but I think it's kinda cool..... |

Qamechoqay Castle in Garus, 2nd millennium BC Some hieratic inscriptions which have been found in Bijar show that this archaic castle can be even traced back to the third millennium BC. To the west of this structure, there is an area, a hundred meters in depth that adjoins the western platform of the castle by a difficult path. The founders of this construction, in this sector have committed a feat in constructing ramparts with a length of approximately 100 m. and to a height of 15-20 m.

Erebuni Palace. Yerevan, Armenia Erebuni palace, built in 782 B.C. by King Argishti I. This palace established the modern-day city of Yerevan as one of the oldest continually-populated urban areas on earth (2,787 years old). Arin Berd, the hill that Erebuni was built on      Inscription with designs  Monument to king Trdat at the foot of Arin Berd hill.  I will be leaving for Armenia the day after tomorrow... The cathedral, itself, is the largest Romanesque Church, in the world. The building of St. Sernin began approximately AD 1078 and finished around 1125.
