Hi All

I just found this forum and thought it looked like a great, very active community. As a way to introduce myself I thought I might share the first episode of my mini-documentary series, A History of the Early American West.

To tell you a little about me, my name is Darren R. Reid I am an academic historian (University of Edinburgh) who works primarily on the early American frontier. A little while ago I decided to work on a series of video-blogs that have turned into mini-documentaries - they are designed to appeal to history enthusiasts who may not know a lot about the frontier in the later 18th and early 19th centuries. Episode one looks at the development of the frontier between the Seven Years War (the French and Indian War) and Dunmore's War on the eve of the Revolution. Hopefully I can create a series that introduces and studies the development of the west - places like Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois - and the fractious situation between the settlers and various Indian tribes.
