This caught my eye as I was scanning the news online - thought it was rather clever and creative.

There was a TV program not long ago - forgotten which channel, but it may have been a BBC Horizon program - showing various efforts to make an 'invisible' car. The closest anyone got was one in which video screens on one side of the car were linked to matching cameras on the other, so that when you looked at the car you saw what the camera pointing in the same direction you were looking saw.
 
It creaked a bit as I recall, but I remember being quite impressed.
