I was looking at the archive article about the ancient Minoans. I was a bit confused by a list of what appears to be Chinese Emperors.
The only written text that I know of from the Minoans is Linear A and only around 40% of it has been translated because of Linear B-Greek. What we have found are only inventory lists unless things have changed. What is the latest about Linear A? Emperors Ming Tai Zu (1368 – 1399) Ming Hui Di (1399 – 1403) Ming Chen Zu (1403 – 1425) Ming Ren Zong (1425 – 1426) Ming Xuan Zong (1426 – 1436) Ming Ying Zong (1436 – 1450) Ming Jing Zong (1450 – 1465) Ming Xian Zong (1465 – 1488) Ming Xiao Zong (1488 – 1506) Ming Wu Zong (1506 – 1522) Ming Shi Zong (1522 – 1567) Ming Mu Zong (1567 – 1573) Ming Sheng Zong (1573 – 1620) Ming Guan Zong (1620 – 1621) Ming Xi Zong (1621 – 1628) Ming Si Zu (1628 – 1644)

A server error? Judging by the dates (from 1368 to 1644), you've
got a complete list of Ming dynasty emperors there. But the ones
I've heard of have different names from that, like Yong Le of the early
1400s.

Minoan art is some of the most colorful natural art from anitquity. I have been to the ruins on Santorini and I have seen the exhibit at the National museum in Athens. If I could pick a time to live in, this would be it!!!

TJK Where did you get those names from?? TJK Anyway, seems like I misunderstood what you wrote.By reading about your article I believed you were the author of the site. I managed to contact the author of the site quoted above. His answer to
my question on the origin of these alleged king names in the list was: "As you no doubt saw on the page itself, the list of names is based on some particular research, and hasn't been confirmed elsewhere. So it is highly speculative. The list is based on a decipherment of the Phaestos Disc by Arkadiy Anatolievich Molchanov (À.À. Ìîë÷àíîâ), a Russian archeologist, and was published in the book "àèíñòâåííûå ïèñüìåíà ïåðâûõ åâðîïåéöåâ" ("The Mysterious Inscriptions of the Ffirst Europeans", Moscow, 1980). But his decipherment is just his own work, and has not been duplicated by other scholars; so, take it with however many grains of salt you think are necessary." Unfortunately a long search for any kind of info on this 'archeologist' and his finds was totally unsucessful. Anyway, any info on what is the most dominant opinion on the 'language' of the Disc may be, which will of course be supported by archeologic finds, cause I've seen everything from Hebrew to Russian.
