Subject: Some VERY Interesting Predictions

Well, today I happened to watch a show where a guy who predicts future talked. He said that he had never been wrong with anything (missed the date by more than 6 months)... I don't remember them all (there is a repetition on Thursday and I'll get the others then) but I remember the main ones:

* An asteroid will hit Earth in 2050 wiping out Iceland, the UK and creating large tidal waves
* there will exist an unified Islamic state (in the next decade or two... couldn't catch the date)
* In 2011 or 2012, Russia will vote for a new constitution
* Russia will bail the US out of the Iraqi War
* the US will be SEVERELY weakened

I don't remember the other ones but what do you think about these?

About the same thing I think about most fortune telling, which is not much. That said, they are interesting, aren't they? Most of them seem fairly reasonable, and the only one that is really, really out there is the asteroid one (then again, I am not astronomer).

I have a Sekoistic prediction. Praying

Here it goes:

- All empires will continue to have bizzare threads that appeal to the masses, specialists and...

Angel

- Seko the Soothsayer

Well, by all accounts what he proved on the show he has never been wrong...

I wouldn't like to get hit by an asteroid...

What are your evalutations for others?

rider could you shine some light on that guy's previous predictions that came true? Doe's he pull a rabbit out of his hat or has he a better formula for his predictions?

I agree with Seko. Rider, if you can give us a little bit of a background on the guy, and his previous "predictions" that supposedly came true, it would be very nice of you.Smile

I bet the last prediction is a no brainer. Everybody knows that if the U.S. continues to expend more than what earns, it will be in real throuble in the following decades...

I got a fortune cookie in Vietnam restaurant. I was expecting the usual all-knowing statement, but I was surprised to see this.

- GAME OVER -

I wonder if that means something...

1 & 4 won't happen. 3 & 5 are almost certainties. 2 will happen eventually, but very unlikely in the next decade or so.

I can tell you more after Thursday. I don't remember the most of them but he foretold the rise (correctly) of our politicians (Estonian, that is)... he also seems to have gotten some more things correct which I don't remember.

As I said, on Thursday...

More interestingly, using game theory, a bunch of social scientist managed to predict correctly 79% of the decision of the US suprem justice. Similarly, they predicted things as varied as the name of the new leader of Iran (in 1980), the collapse of USSR and so on.
They are used by the state department and several major companies round the world. They don't really "predict" they estimated the how likely a given event is. They are often correct.

But they ususally miss big events, say like the  collapse of communism.

1.) Atleast i don't have  to worry about my current investments as of present.

2.) Maybe in the latter half of this century or the next one?

3.) Perhaps?

4.) When pigs fly

5.) Up and down, down and up... who really knows? I'm still waiting on the predictions of the earlier part of the 19th century, that the US wouldn't be around long enough to be even mentioned by history! And yet...???

well i live the uk and im not going to cancel my pension plan or relocate on the basis of this twaddle.
When im watching the olympics in 2012 whilst the russians have done nothing atall to help america and the islamic world is about as unified as william wallaces remains i may well write a letter to this man telling him to get a proper job.

I'm all for writing that letter now. It would read,

"My Dear Fellow,
Do please stop scaring our children. We have enough to worry about now with global warming, massive famine in Africa, terrorism, totalitarianism, class-conflict, unremitting ethnic warfare, AIDs, drugs, typhoons, exploitative Capitalism, unaccounted-for Soviet nuclear armaments, George W. Bush, mad cow disease, avian birdflu, etc.
Please get a real job, or at least quit this one. If you want to be a doomsayer, then at least get a job with FOX News. Anne Coulter and Bill "I'm a Big Baby" O'Reilley could at least use the company in hell.
My most sincere thanks,

Concerned Citizen,
Brian J Checco, esq."

Whatta ya think?

* Russia will bail the US out of the Iraqi War

Extremely unlikely. Russia would support the Iraqi's before the US. In fact at the moment Russia is supporting them in arms sales.
