All Empires Magazine is a community project and part of the AE Site.
AE Magazine was started in January 2006 to address two problems which came to light after several years of running the project, the lack of general historical knowledge of people with an interest in contributing to the historical field, and the narrow spectrum of many people's knowledge of history.
The magazine continues to be published [almost] every month with articles from authors around the world, both established and new, reflected in the diversity of its content. The magazine concentrates on less known areas of history.

Hey, the new edition looks great. As for the pic quiz, I'm going to say Bagan and Borobudur. Am I right, Paul (I'm going to assume that it was you who put those in)?

I think Decebal might have just had the same problem as Praetor and I - not noticing the answer had been said prior to us. Then again, Balaam didn't say 'Bagan' Tongue

No, I hadn't seen the answers. The thing is I've taken an interest in that region over the past while (planning some travelling over there), so it was pretty easy to recognize them. I've also remembered that Paul's been talking about this region too, so it wasn't much of a stretch to think that he had come up with the questions.

I have been having some problems reading the magazine. When I open the page there is essentially nothing there, just unloaded pictures, no links, and no text. This is a problem that has been persistent for quite some time now. I was wondering (in my rude American manner) what the deal was or rather if it was just my computer?

What browser do you use King John?

I use Safari and am running Mac OS X version 10.4.11. If that helps?

OK. It may have something to do with Safari, but I'm no expert. Do you have IE or Firefox on your computer? You could test it on those, and that will tell you if it is the Safari Browser that's the problem or not.

I don't have either only Safari. I will try it from my office tomorrow where I have both IE and Firefox. I'll see if it works there.

Opera has most things fine (except the Main Site). I'd still use it though. FF and IE go perectly (IE 6.0 and above, that is).

The problem must be with the Safari browser, since I was able to view the magazine and articles while using Firefox in my office.

Where should we post the answer to the "Picture Quiz"??? Or just wait till the new issue comes out...is there a "prize" for the right answer Wink

Date Posted: 11-Mar-2009 at 01:13
Well, usually you wait until next issue and then congratulate yourself in how smart you are when you see the answer . But having some discussion on it would be kind of cool.

The next issue may be a while, we have a whole host of technical problems with the site at the moment.
