Iranian Artists' Reaction to the Movie "300"

Iranian artists in reaction to the anti-Iran Hollywood movie "300" have produced a film titled "Jamshid and Khorshid", which depicts the peace loving nature of Iranians throughout the history of performance.
"300", which was funded by the US departments of war and state, while tampering with Iran's ancient culture wrongfully depicts the Persians as savages.
Nader Yaghmaian, the producer of the movie "Jamshid and Khorshid" in an interview with IRIB said: the movie is about a champion named Jamshid who fights for the salvation of "light" and purity and finally saves the sun's light from the evil grasp of abomination.
Yaghmaian added: the movie "Jamshid and Khorshid" is based on true historical, cultural and artistic events and will be open to the public from the 4th of April, and is the answer in response to the malicious "300".
The movie "300" has not only faced criticism from numerous American cultural and artistic figures but has also been a bone of contention amongst Greek scholars to the extent that the Greek media has labeled it an expression of US failure against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Must be a comedy if they are saying this.LOL You'd think if it was funded by the American government, they'd have it made in the US too...

So who the enemy in this movie?

Are the names of the characters based on real heroes? Or are they just fictional characters?

I've never heard of the two characters. Well....Jamshid is a mythical king of Iran from the Shahnameh (Persepolis is still called (wrongly I might add) Takhte Jamshid (lit. Throne of Jamshid) by Iranians). Khorshid literally means the sun. But I've never heard those two names in conjunction.

It reminds me of the Mani story of creation.

It seems to be a mixture of old Iranian stories: http://www.rfanimation.com - http://www.rfanimation.com Simurgh (mythical Persian bird) has also a role but that oil thing is really ridiculous!

So who the enemy in this movie?

Evil people have been called Gorgins, there is a partly bad guy in Shahname who is called Gorgin, the son of Milad (Mithradates) and the founder of the city of Gorgan.
