i have a question i'm not sure about(very minor)

is the spear(5-6 ft.) considered a polearm

Yes, the spear is most certainly a polearm, although they tend to be more in the 8-9 foot range.

Any weapon that features a shaft for two-handed use (wood, rattan, bamboo, or otherwise) is a polearm.
