http://www.mehrnews.com/en/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsID=241527 : TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (MNA) -- The Tehran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department (TCHTD) is planning to register Vali-e Asr Street on the national heritage list, the Persian service of CHN announced on Saturday.
The street, which begins at Rah-Ahan Square and ends at Tajrish Square, is the longest street in Tehran and will be the first street recorded on the national heritage list.
The director of TCHTD�s Registration Council, Naser Pazuki, said that the idea was proposed by the council and that its registration will help safeguard the history and identity of the old street.
Pazuki is convinced that the project will prevent any additional interference by people or organizations and will help preserve the original character of the street, with its massive plane trees, for future generations.
