It is interesting to know that the most popular Persian dictionary has been written by a jew name Solomon Haim but the most complete one is Dictionary of Dehkhoda.

The best dictionary (which incluedes ethymologies of the words) for Turkish (spoken in Turkey), the Okyanus, was prepared by Pars Tulac, a Turkish Armenian.

It is a Turkish dictionary, but it has the Greek title of Okyanus (Ocean), the author is an Armenian and his first name is Pars (Persian word for Persia)!

I thought the Greek for ocean was Thalassos.

I think its even more ironic that the best dictionary for Turkish was written by an Armenian. Thought that was cool and interesting.

Cyrus...whats up with the guys name? lol PARSig means "Persian" in Armenian as well, and "Persia" is PARSgastan (pronounced Barsgastan)

And the title Okyanus, which i understand is the Greek word for "ocean" is also eerily similar to the Armenian word for ocean which is Ovgyanos.

Pars Tulac's name, Pars, is the name of a type of a black wild cat, it's not related with Prs (Frs/Persian).
