From the XVII century Polish book written by Franciszek Jezierski:

„It seems that just like the cheerfulness has its surface signs, which are the characters of the nations in their dances, so does the stir of anger has its character in the grab of iron. The Hungarian uses the backhand, the Moscovite cuts from the top, the Turkish twardso himself and the Polish the uses the art of intersection.”
