First. Another excellent research general information blog.

However a criticism is none the less necessary. Even on a blog site you should be providing source credit for your photos and general historical information.

Because even while the text is undoubtedly your own. The facts, incidents, basic demographic and more detailed information etc..had to have had an original source.

Consequently it's proper to identify it and give it's creators credit. That is basic writing procedure. Otherwise claims made be laid against you for indirect plagiarism. If I missed those in your article my apologies.

Second. As this is an English speaking based history forum..you should in future provide your articles in the same or provide a translated version. The reason is not to discredit your native speaking efforts. But to ease the ability of a reader who is not a speaker of your language to read it in the first place.

And while there are certainly translation devices software available..this is also a well recognized professional courtesy amongst authors.

As for Hartmann?

A remarkable aviator and combat pilot. He was perhaps the last of the great solo battle captains of the sky. Whose tenacity-skill-and indomitable courage-loyalty to his men allowed him to maintain that 'spirit' of independence in action. So valuable to combat leaders.

Unfortunately this is also at odds with the stereotypical requirements of expected discipline, compliance, and acceptance sought by a unified chain of command.

As many of his selected fore bearers in the First World War; he and many other 'maverick' types, from all the nations involved in the Second, marked him as unique. Exceptional.

But alas 'unique and exceptional' have not been a qualifier for many years. And usually is tampered down to ensure consistency and uniformity and discipline in a force structure. Not always..but generally.

Whether that is appropriate or not is a debate for another date.
