Nick, I did dinner theater for 3 years.  I love mysteries, but I think you need to give the folks a little more to get their interest going. We used to have someone who would write the set up.  We would take it from there.

Want to write the scenario Red? Three of the detectives are murderers. Four of them are known to be violent. All have an alibi putting them in different parts of the house when the host was murdered

The hosts estate is on the edge of an isolated moor.
The room where the body was found was locked from the inside.  How was the host killed? what
weapons?  Are there any others at the house?  Houskeeper, maid, butler, driver?  I don't have time to write much, but then you don't need much more to get some other folks kicking in.

We used to ad lib 3-4 acts on not much more.

Interviews with the servants seem to suggest they were in other parts of the house at the time of the murder. The maid was washing dishes all evening, the butler was passed out drunk in the wine cellar, the driver was busy parking the guests' cars, and the housekeeper was seen by several guests sweeping up cigarette ends. The evidence suggests one of the visiting detectives was responsible as each one had been with the host before his death. But who could have killed him?

A bloody knife was found near the body. However, forensics have determined that the host was drugged when stabbed. No fingerprints were found on the murder weapon as the killer was wearing gloves.
