Sure. If the Scots leave the UK it opens the possibility for the English to do likewise and abolish the monarchy

I voted 'Yes'. Every nation in the world has a right to be independent. Scottish people fought for independent for centuries. And their dreams will come true. I see very much similarities between Scottish people and the Kurds. Solidarity is the word that I think about at this moment. I am very happy for them.
The world is changing and the new world order is knocking on the door…

Until 1603 when they took over England. Then their king foolishly decides to convert to Catholicism and is overthrown in 1688. One of his grandsons (Cardinal Henry Stuart) is gay and the other (Bonnie Prince Charlie) has no legitimate offspring so we end up being ruled by Germans from 1714 til the present day The British monarch no longer has any power and sponges off the taxpayer (like the benefits cheats who won't work). It's time we abolished this obsolete institution, gave Northern Ireland back to the Irish and became a republic

1714, damn!
Why do you want to abolish the royal house. The Queen is also the queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some other places. It doesn't harm those countries, right? Their power can also be reduce only to a ceremonial one.

Because we have to pay for their debauched lifestyles, holidays and the upkeep of their palaces while the poor struggle to pay their fuel and heating bills. While the current queen's not that bad Charles would be a terrible king and William would be an old man by the time he could take the throne. It wouldn't be so bad if we could choose our own king (as the Saxons did) but the way it is now the oldest son automatically inherits the throne regardless of his ability to rule

Ok, I don't want to interfere in your intern policies. I guess you're a Scot. Do most Scots think like you about the royal house?
I know that Gaelic is a native language of Scotland. But in Scotland live also people that belonged to the Germanic tribes that speak Scots, right? So Scots are a little bit Germanic too...
Like I said I like Scots very much. There're HIGHlanders, like Kurds! Had their own clans etc.

Modern nations are mostly 19th century constructs. There is nothing permanent about them. Scotland may be the first, and when it will, there will be a domino effect across Europe with places like Bavaria and Catalonia and so on. Its only a matter of when local indepedent economy will outweigh common language. It does already in many places. Examples are missing.

They've had plenty of votes in the past and always voted no, 25-30% support indicates another no vote to me.

A vote on the year of the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn? That could close the gap quite a bit, if not altogether.

What a handsome figure of a dragon. No wonder I fall madly in love with the Alani Dragon now, the avatar, it's a gorgeous dragon picture.

İ don't give them a chance. maybe they will reach the most highest percent about independence but I don't think that they will collect enough vote(majority) to declare independence
