So who is the Greatest of the Greats?

I havn't voted in my own poll yet because I have yet to decide!

Of course there are many more than I chose, clearly 10 is not enough options to pick them all. If I missed your favourite, I apoligize but I went with what I felt were the big ones, but do let us know who that might be as there are so many other great.. Great's, to pick!

Ok my poll failed. I'll try and fix later.

Anyway I went with:

Cyrus the Great
Alexander the Great
Peter the Great
Elizabeth the Great
Constantine the Great
Charles the Great (Charlemagne)
Pompey Magnus
Ramesses the Great
Frederick the Great
Other

The greatest of the greats is obviously the first one on your list but there were several other great rulers who are not even called great, like the Abbasid Caliph Ma'mun, he did great works and his tolerance was really admirable.

If I not mistaken I think there was similar thread like this before
Didn't know some of these guys actually had the Great title. Queen Elizabeth ruled for a long time and many believe that was the start of the golden age for England but I had never heard her being called "The Great" before

These are also some of my favorits in the greatest of the great. But my most favorite is Elizabeth the great. Because she's a woman. Even ancient history says that women are powerful.Smile

Muhammed (various spellings accepted) the Conqueror!"

He could well have been the "original" Prophet?
