French Colonial Troops WWI

   Hello,
I just have a few questions on the subject:

1.) Were indigenous Morroccans, Senegalaise, Algerians etc. conscripted for the war effort, or were these men all volunteers?

2.) Were French or European colonists born in Algeria etc. subject to conscription like mainland French or were only volunteers relied on? 

3.) French war dead for the Great War is 1.3 million.  Are there any figures as to how many of these casualties were from the Colonial Empire?
