Not so much Fox News as really all media. It seems like nobody really likes her. Because she is unlikeable!

She's the most popular candidate in the Democratic polls...
besides, is the Presidential election a popularity contest or the consensus by American voters of who's best qualified to lead the nation for the next four years?

her laugh isn't evil, it's just a bit ingenuine... I certainly hope youtube videos don't influence the way people vote in this country; of course, the stupid and sad fact is that they do...

If you look up individual candidates on youtube you can clearly see that many of them have actually taken advtantage of the site and posted many videos of themselves.

The US Presidential elections has become a popularity contest, though I suppose at some time in the past it was more a contest of who was the most qualified.
I don't know that Hillary is the most popular any more. She was the most popular at one time, but now is basically in a dead heat with John Edwards and Barack Obama. The Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire primary this week should sort things out a bit, at least I would think so.

That Caucasus stuff doesn't mean anything. It's a big hoax to keep the nation's attention... it doesn't actually determine anything. I mean, honestly, who cares what Iowans think?

Iowa doesn't really matter. In is a publicity stunt for lagging candidates. This is big time for Huckabee... and probably his only one. He is lagging behind McCain in New Hampshire.

It's more of a tradition in US politics now, much like coverage of the polling in Dixville Notch. They are holdovers from the early days of radio. When being able to do live remotes and put them on a network was brand new and novel. It generated interest in the election and the candidates. Lack of relevance or not, it's part of the show.

In college, I had a Pol.Sci. prof. who made the point that these primaries sneak up on candidates.
Iowa is in the heart of the Mid West/Great Plains, and that includes (or can include) Texas. You cannot exclude momentum in the psychology of politics, and attitude and opinion don't stop at the Iowa state line. The politics of that geography, from the Dakotas to west Texas, are pretty similar. (Add up the electoral votes of all those states, and it could make a difference.)
Besides, you still need to get nominated, so that is actually the deciding factor of Iowa's importance. New Hampshire as well. The states like it because it increases their profile and importance.
If you win, better "Mo;" if you lose, you can be toast.
