One of the arguments Iran poses for it's nuclear program, whether military or non-military, is it's right to be political independent, and not being pushed by foreign powers.

And i ask:

Does it really exists? Can States, other than hyper powers, be ,truly, independent in forming their policies ,especially those in the field of foreign relations?

What a good question? I don't think states have a chance for legitamte viability, let alone sustaining longevity in today's age without good international commerce. Everyone is interdependant on another. Even countries with huge resources need economical and miltary pacts.

Regarding Iran, of course it should have a right to choose it's alliances and manner of interdependance (not independance). Countries still manage their own affairs within their own constitutions. Yet foreigners will always maneuver for influence and benfits by mutually lucrative agreements or forceful intimidation.

No. Iran dose not have political independence. Or to look at it another way, Iran has independence but so do others. She is free to look out for her interests, as are others for their. That is where conflict arises, and weaker parties back down. History of international relations.
