What was the cause of the spread of Armaic

    I want to ask the people here that what was the cause of spread of Armaic that it became the lingua franca of west asia.  By my knowledge the Armaic people migrated into west asia peacefully and not in that many great numbers so why is that theirs langugae became  the official language of west asia.

The spread of the Aramaic language was not necessarily via migration of Aramaic speaking population. It became the lingua franca through trade and the support of regional powers, such as the Babylonians.
Think of it as the spread of Arabic. It is not necessarily a migration of Arabs. Various Arab empires and governments support of Arabic language use, in addition to science publication, and trade was all important factors in the spread of Arabic language and its vocabularies.
Aramaic would the equivelant at that time.
