Ashkenaz = Germany in Hebrew. So its not really a region as such, just another name for Germany. Ashkenazi were then Jews who settled in Germany, and from the middle ages onwards, became a name for European Jews in general.
Allemanni were a West Germanic 'tribe' (or rather a weak confederacy of tribes) from the Upper Main region of Germany (up river from Frankfurt), who later spread southwards to what is now the Swiss/German border. Clovis I (of the Franks) would eventualy conquer the Allemanni, and make them part of the Frankish mepire/Kingdom (?), from which France derives her name, but territorialy the area that the Allemanni inhabited is in modern day Germany.
