It has still the worlds largest single span (about 40 meters high, 50 meters deep and 25 meters wide)

Samarra's Minaret

Inspired from the ancient Babylonian Ziggurats, the 1200 years old minaret of Samarra is really one the greatest building in Iraq.

Kisra palace is realy impressive you can see how the Persian architecture is great.
there was a story about it happened in Abbasid era,during the Building of Baghdad a lack in brick affect the construction of the new city,caliph al-Mansur call his assitants among them Khaled bin Barmak,all of them told the Caliph destroy the Taq of Kisra to get the brick he need except Khaled who said that the cost of destruction will cost him too much and the brick will be very costly for him as well as the moving fees,but al-mansur respond to Khaled was "you can't forget your great ancestors" Khaled accept the fact but after that al-Mansur saw that Khaled opinion was 100% right as well as he was very miser,he stopped the destruction,and the Taq survived.

Kassite Ziggurat of Aqarquf, west of Baghdad
It was built by the Kassite king Kurigalzu II in the 15th century BC.

Hatra city,north of Iraq near Mousel,a vassel state to the parthian empire,it was a very fortified city and withstood repeated attacks by the Roman empire.
