In Hong kong, many young proplr do not like to study history, including those in the history department of the universitites. Many of them do not choose history as their first choice, they come to this department because their admission scores are not perfect enough to go to other popular department. so they do not study this subject actively,May be Hong Kong is a highlr developed commercial city, so how about the history student of other countries. My professor stated that France is not so realistoc as compared ith Hong Kong. Maybe people in Europe like to study history./May you tell me.

In some universities in Europe History and Political Sciences and Social Sciences are the most appriciated department.

Maybe your professor meant utilitarian not realistic btw.

In my two unies London School of Economics and Sorbonne, history is defently one of the most seek after departments.

At my university, history is the fifth biggest department. (after psychology, medicine, law, pedagogy). The worry in this country is that too many people choose a study for the fun of it, there is a serious lack of students in the beta departments like maths, pysics, chemics.

Women hold their councils of war in kitchens: the knives are there, and the cups of coffee, and the towels to dry the tears.

School in Brasil is focused on both world history and the history of our country.  When I went to the United States to study for a bit, I noticed they have a very bias view of history, only focusing on the history of their country and their glory (world history class).  And after reading a few posts here, some European countries are the same way.  Maybe the government of the countries nowdays are trying to curve the way the people study history in their country, which really sux.  I'm not getting a history degree at school, I just study for fun, but damn I want to know the point of view of history from every country.

Pardon my english.
