The first of those is inevitable and isn't necessarily a problem. It depends of who owns the capital, and who gets the return from it. In the technical sense the Soviet Union was much more capital reliant than Tsarist Russia had been. Indeed on the whole the more work that is done by machines and the less that has to be done by humans, the better.
The second, the increasing income gap, is indeed a problem.
