The East Asia Forum, is a forum where freedom of speech is encouraged.

BUT, Freedom of speech does not mean that one can go about saying whatever what wants in the strictest sense.

There are no rules against be angry, passioned, or zealous in an argument.

This forum is not a question and answer site, and members are encouraged to participate in debates and exchange ideas.

All of this though, can be done civilly.  There is no place for insults in an intellectual and scholarly discussion.

Members must refrain from racial slurs, insults, and debate in a generally polite manner.

Threads designed to incite racial, ethnic, national, religious, and other forms of hatred will are also not permitted.

As our very own Mengtzu once said:  "Attack the argument, not the person."
