Which "world" does your country belong?

You know that this classification was made at the Cold War times. The Central Western Bloc countries were called as the "first world"; the countries of the Eastern bloc were called as the "second world" and the rest were called as the "third world". After this, the extremely poor countries who took very little share from the world income were called as the "fourth world". I just want to have statistical information about the countries where the users of AE come from...

I voted 1st but I really think that the Basque Country belongs to a diferent World, you know. 

I voted Fourth World for Armenia.

I voted 2nd World for Serbia and Montenegro

I'm not sure where I should put Bulgaria - first or second? What do the other forumers think?

Bosnia belongs to the third world ecomicaly

Mila,Bosnia was never in the first world because since Bosnia existed it was in  the third,you cant count Yugoslavia(and even then Bosnia was among the most poor areas while Croatia and Slovena where the rich ones)

As far as I know, all Yugoslavia was 1st or 2nd world. Technologically, yugoslavia used to be ahead of many EU countries.

I think Yugoslavia should be counted in the 3rd world despite its socialist regime under Tito.

To remind a historical fact: Yugoslavia(Tito) had attended to Bandung Conference in 1955, which many neutral countries referred with the name "Non-Aligned", belonging to neither poles came together.

Tito had never been much cordial with the Soviet Union, and always kept good relations with the leaders of third-world countries,like Gamal Abdel Nasser.

So it is the best way to put Yugoslavia into third world group.

Lol, is it just a worldy known fact that America is first?  Or is there some other reason no one from America posted we are first?

I don't understand how anyone could say Yugoslavia is third world? We're richer than the third world today, and we were far richer then.

Countries you accept as second world without debate were, quite literally, picking through our garbage for their clothes and belongings. The only place where those on the other side of the border were doing better than those on our side was the Slovenian border with Italy. Gorizia had a higher standard of living than Nova Gorica. Areas of Austria were also doing better.

Beyond that, we were lightyears ahead.
