Japanese Royalty
The Japanese monarchy is the longest line of any monarchy in the world. Emperors were, and are known by the name, or names of their reigns. The current reigning Emperor, Akihito is number 125 in the unbroken chain of sucession. The first was, Jimmu (660-585 B.C.). The Japanese word for Emperor is Tenno. Since the foundation of Japan in about 600 BC, The Imperial Household of Japan (in Japanese, Kosh*tsu) has been keep the unbroken line of the Family and Emperors as the only dynasty in Japan for over 2600 years. Therefore, Presently, the Imperial Household of Japan is the oldest ruling family in the world, and more than 90 percent of Japanese people reportedly support the Imperial Household and His Majesty the Emperor. The Imperial family in a very real sence has become the modern symbol of the unity of the Japanese nation. For a long term of the periods of Japan, the Emperor has been a mere figurehead and real power was yielded by a series of military shogans. Even through this period, however, the dynastic chain remained unbroken and the Emperor's continued to be vernerated by the Japanese peolple. To understand Japan, it is necessary to know about the Imperial family.

Where are the Capets ruling today? I thought they only ruled in France until 1350 or so.

The Capet dinasty has many branches for example Valois, Anjou, Bourbon. So the current king of Spain (Juan Carlos I) is in fact a Capet.

But, in fact, Juan Carlos is king Pelayo's direct descendent. Pelayo was the first king of Asturias, the first christian kingdom in the iberian peninsula after the muslim invasion. Pelayo was crowned in 718, so, actually, spanish monarchy is the longest dynasty in Europe, and the second one in the world after the japanese royalty.

I disagree. Monarchy and dinasty are different things. Juan Carlos can be the descendant of Pelayo but he comes from a different dinasty. For example according to Wikipedia queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of Bla III of Hungary, but she is not a member of the rpd dinasty (ended 1301), but a Windsor.

I read that the Yamato state in Japan was founded by a Prince from the Korean kingdom of Bakjae; has this been proven?
The Korean Shilla dyansty lasted almost 1000 years (57 bce935)
Ancient Chosun (24th century B.C. to end of 3rd century B.C.)
If it can be proven that Ancient Chosun existed then it would be the longest dyansty I believe.

The Dulo Dynasty ruled 2137 BC to 753 AD.
The House of Dulo was the name of the ruling dynasty of the early Bulgars.
