http://www.architecture-identity.de/conference_abstracts_eim en.htm : Mosque architecture seems to have become standardized sometime during the eleventh and twelfth centuries, incorporating interior courtyards and domes among other elements. Indeed, the golden age of Iranian mosque architecture connotes grand turquoise domes, sun-warmed interior courtyards, as well as minarets. However, Tehrans Al-Ghadir Mosque contains none of these elements. This deviation from golden-age imagery suggests an architectural field open to interpretation and innovation.

http://www.hamshahri.org/hamnews/1382/820223/news/_adabh.htm : The better sample of Post Modern Architecture in Iran is the holy cross church in Tehran's Ararat club.

King Fahd Mosque
Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Emperor's Mosque
Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

^ The Emperor's Mosque is actually one of the oldest in Sarajevo - the oldest, I believe - but it has a fortress around it that is less than a century old and, even today, is fairly modern.

I still think the ones I posted are modern, at least compared to most Bosnian mosques.

But this one is beautiful!

this is the newest mosque built on the Corniche of my home city, Jeddah.

I like it because it is simple, following the traditional look, and the location is a breath-taking spot. It is called the Island Mosque.

I'm not sure if these classify as post-modern:

All wood mosque:

Hungarian church:

Pyramid church:

Auferstehung church:

I'll be adding more, because this is an interesting topic.  Architecture has become such a competitive field, pushing architects to become more innovative, making it interesting to see how they do this while preserving some religious interpretations...
