What is jurislam?
Do you by any chance mean the city of Jerusalem?

Yes it is holly, Jerusalem was the initial direction of prayer for early Muslims before the relationship between Muslims and Jews of medinna went south and Muslims started to use mecca. Also, per Muslim belief that is where Muhammad ascended to heaven from

It kind of is, but If your point is that the importance of Jerusalem is getting overemphasized by Muslims to make a case for Palestinians you may be right. From religious stand point Jerusalam is far more important to Jews and Christians than to Muslims

The Dome of the Rock, technicly not a mosque, but sometimes called one
(Mosque of Umar). It became important after the Muslim conquest of
Jerusalem. Muslims (some? all?) believe that this is where Prophet
Muhammad ascended to heaven (Mi'raj).
So yes, its important to muslims, and certainly very holy.

Both these were built after the death of the prophet so i dont see how they became holy. |
Its the actual site, not the building, that makes it holy, the building
is there because the site is holy, not the other way round.
Only god makes things holy and revelations stopped after the prophet died. |
Presumably, inorder for for prophet to ascend to heaven, God has to
help out a little, that sounds like a firm endorsement to me, and its
not an everyday event either.
Now, you can argue whether or not muslims *should* thus see the site as
being holy because of what is supposed to have happened there, but its
really a moot point to believers.
There was Al Sahaba's mosque (the prophet friends' mosque; more than one friend of the prophet built it and prayed there regularly), how come that was not holy? |
Because its not the place from which the prophet ascended to heaven from?
oh by the way umar's mosque and the dome of the rock mosque are two different buildings |
Its supposidly sometimes called the 'mosque of Umar' as the Caliph Umar
once prayed there. It is of course, as I already stated, not an actual
mosque.
AFAIK, there is another building called the Mosque of Umar in the Noble
Sanctury, there again, i'm sure there are other mosques of that name
around the world.

There are different level of holiness. Any mosque can be holy to Muslims and any church to Christians. If you question is on if Jerusalem is the holiest site to Muslims. The answer is no, not for any sect of Islam. The holiest site for Jews is in Jerusalem not Muslims.
Point?

IIRC it's not mentioned in the Koran that Jerusalem is holy, but that's
the point. The bible doesn't say Santiago de Compostella or Lourdes are
holy, but still they are for many christians.
