hi, I am looking to find paintings, drawings, photos or pictures of armor from the following periods and regions:

1. Ancient Egypt (before 500 B.C.) (I don't see many paintings depicting Ancient Egyptians with armor)

2. Rome after 200 A.D. (The armor and helmets of Roman Empire after 200 A.D. differed from the ones we usually associate with in that they were cheaper to make and similar to Gothic counterparts)

3. Byzantine Empire (Very little evidence of Byzantine armor in the internet)

4. Mamluk Egypt (European drawings of Islamic armor is very highly inaccurate.)

5. Ottoman Empire before 1700 A.D. (I want to see how much Ottoman armor differed from European armor)

6. Mugul India (Very interested)

7. Ming China (Ming Armor changed through time.  Earlier Ming armor featured hilly scales and more traditional Chinese helmets.  Later Ming armor featured chain mails and  brigaindine suits.)

Poirot,

I can't provide any illustrations, but I can cite a couple of books:

Rome:

Bishop, M.C. & Coulston, J.C. "Roman Military Equipment: from the Punic Wars to the Fall of Rome."  London: Batsford, (1993).   ISBN: 0713466375.

There's also "The Journal of Roman Military History." I think there's an index on the web.

Byzantium:

Kolias, T.G. "Byzantinische Waffen: Ein Beitrag zur byzantinischen Waffenkunde von Angfangen bis zur lateinischen Eroberung." Vienna: Osterreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften, (1988).

You also might try "Dumbarton Oaks Papers."

Mord.

Images of Byzantine armour, its difficult to know whether or not the armour is what the common Byzantine soldier would of wore since many of the pictures of images of Saints etc in armour.

3rd century Roman legionary apparently, totally bizarre to see anything like this and associate it with Romans but the site says so  http://www.roman-empire.net/army/legionary-late.html

Roman Cavalryman probably 5th century. http://www.roman-empire.net/army/cavalryman.html
