Various people of Royalty have enjoyed art as a hobby.      
Various people of Royalty have pursued art as a career.      

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is a painter. She has held many art shows over the years.    
She used the pseudonym of Ingahild Grathmer for some illustrations.   
Her illustrations were used for the Danish edition of The Lord of the Rings.    
In 2000, Margrethe illustrated Henrik, the Prince Consort's poetry collection Cantabile.

Prince Eugene (1865-1947), Prince of Sweden, Duke of Narke, was the youngest son of King Oscar II and Queen Sophia.     
During the years 1885-1886, Eugene studied at Uppsala University and was at the same time a student for the painter Wilhelm von Gegerfelt.          
The Prince decided he wanted to become an artist.       
Eugene went to Paris to study between 1887 and 1889.     
In 1889 he was selected as the first Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm.       
He devoted himself to painting landscapes.

Princess Louise of Great Britain (future Duchess of Argyll), the daughter of Queen Victoria, attended the Kensington National Art Training School.    
Louise painted in both oils and watercolors.

Princess Louise of Great Britain (Duchess of Argyll) sculpted a statue of Queen Victoria in her Coronation robes. This statue is at Kensington Palace.     
Louise sculpted a statue of Queen Victoria which is at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The statue of Queen Victoria is at the opening of the Strathcona Music Building.

HRH Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales is a painter. Limited edition prints and lithographs of the Prince's original watercolors have been sold. The proceeds have gone to the Prince of Wales Charitable Foundation.

Queen Victoria of Great Britain delighted in painting pictures of children all throughout her marriage.     
However, after Prince Albert's demise, she retreated instead into empty landscapes.     
She signed her works with phrases like "done in the 3rd Year of my desolation".

Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (The Prince Consort of Queen Victoria) painted.       
In 1839 he painted The Death of Count Mansfield. It is a scene from the Thirty Years' War when the Protestant commander chose to die heroically on his feet with a sword in his hand.     
Albert sent The Death of Count Mansfield as a gift to Queen Victoria during their engagement period.

Alexandra of Denmark (1844-1925), the wife of King Edward VII of Great Britain, possessed artistic talents.     
Like Queen Victoria, Alexandra also kept a sketchbook where she copied works and painted watercolors.
