QuoteReplyTopic: Titles for Heirs Posted: 16-May-2015 at 20:45
There are general titles of the heir to the throne like the Crown Prince of Norway.
There are specific titles of the heir to the throne.
One example is the Prince of Wales. Prince of Wales is a title traditionally granted to the heir apparent of the British or English monarch.
One Prince of Wales was Frederick Louis (1707-1751). He did not become King because he predeceased his father, George II.
I always thought it was a joke that Dauphin sounded like Dolphin - but that really is what it means. The dolphin is on the coat of arms held by the French heir apparent.
