It's odd in the sense that little detail is available but then again that's not necessarily odd at all. The sources you have are then, by de facto, the primary available.
What's not odd; is that a royal murdered or ordered it, on another royal.
Consequently, the theory of influence and jealousy is probably the best available...and that's not new in royal houses either.
